Collaborative Impact: AACCF and Teach for Nigeria Impact 2,000 Students with Back to School Initiative

Posted on December 13th, 2024

In September 2024, AACCF, in collaboration with Teach for Nigeria, successfully completed the “Back to School” initiative, which took place on September 18th and 19th. This project aimed to address critical educational needs by making infrastructure improvements, providing essential learning materials, and directly engaging with school administrators to create a more supportive learning environment.

One of the key highlights of the initiative was the provision of braille papers for Ade Okubanjo School for the Visually Impaired in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North East L.G.A. This was part of our broader effort to cater to the diverse needs of students across the region.

The outcomes of the project were significant, as we reached 12 schools across Ogun State, impacting over 2,000 learners. Essential school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, mathematical sets, and braille papers were distributed, providing students with the tools they need to succeed. Additionally, we supported schools with infrastructural upgrades, including new chairs, repainting of halls, and the repair of broken desktops.

By tackling both educational and infrastructural challenges, this project furthered our commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education and emphasized the importance of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. This initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration to create lasting change, and we are proud to have played a part in helping students access a more enriching and accessible educational experience.
